As a representative in the provisary consultative Chamber, Henri Queuille devotes himself, during the months that follow Liberation, to set up again and reorganize the Radical Party full success is the result of the pains he takes.
On october 21st 1945 he meets with his unique polling failure. After the country has voted the Constitution of 1946, he stands for Parliament in the Assemblée Nationale and is elected in Corrèze where he leads the Radical Roll.
He takes place among the most respected politicians with the ear of the people. On september 1948, in a crisis background, he happens to set up his first goverment.
At the end of a one year’s ministry and more one of the longest and most efficient of the 4th Republic, Henri Queuille whose chances at their start had looked so precarious, succeeded in giving back order and prosperity to the country together with its confidence in its fate.
Twice more, Queuille is brought to form a goverment : in July 1950 and March 1951. His name for succeeding President Auriol was often quoted in 1953, but some concern for his health brought him not to stand for President of the Republic.
When 74 in age, Henri Queuille brought any political activity to an end.
