| The archives kept in the departmental Henri Queuille Museum of the Resistance in Neuvic are both numerous and varied : personal papers of the former President Queuille, documents concerning the Resistance movement in Haute-Corrèze, local history and agriculture. We list below the main sets of documents, but the museum also possesses a great number of photographs, posters and other archivable documents which have not yet been properly catalogued. | |||||||||||||||||||

Documents related to President Henri Queuille
These private papers cover the period 1884 to 1970 and were donated to the museum in Neuvic by the family when M. Queuille’s own family house was officially converted into a museum. The inventory was made at the end of the eighties by Hervé Bastien (1965-1996) and published by the French National Archives in 1989. These archives can be consulted in microfilm form only, at the museum itself, but only after the museum curator and the president of the “Association du Musée départemental de la Résistance Henri Queuille” have given their consent. An application form can be downloaded in pdf format (11Ko) |

While all these documents are being double-checked and verified, especially those concerning private individuals (“miliciens”, for example), consultation is subject to approval by the Amicale des anciens de l’AS. In addition, up to a further 20 boxes of donated material have been catalogued. These include for example documents on the areas furiously defended by the Germans (such as Royan) ....from Elie Rouby, a “Companion de la Liberation”, etc. The complete inventory of all these documents will be publicly available after the reorganisation of the museum in the autumn of 2009. |

| Documents of Jean Bordes M. Jean Bordes was a history teacher, a friend of Henri Queuillle, and the author of a book called “Neuvic et son canton”. He carried out much research into many local events and issues. These documents have been divided into 8 sections. The complete inventary is available on request, and covers essentially the history of the Canton of Neuvic. Jean Bordes’research is a synthesis of already known documents, such as the notes left by M. Marius Vazeilles, and an important investigation into the archives left by local “notaires” which have since been destroyed. |

| Documents related to Agriculture These documents relate to the use of pesticides for cultivating crops, and the setting up of pesticide control methods which had been proposed by Henri Queuille as early as 1928 and adopted in 1938, then subsequently modified at national level in 1943, thus giving a great impetus to the scientific study of pest control from 1950 onwards. These documents have been donated by persons directly involved with agricultural developement and can be consulted subject to prior consent. They are divided into 4 sections and includes many periodicals which had only limited circulation. An inventory is available on request. |
